How we handle it.
No heat is often a coolant problem. The Audi in our photos had no heat at idle. Older coolant lines on top of the engine had turned brittle and were leaking, and the wrong coolant had been added. We replaced the lines, flushed the system and refilled it with the right coolant, all the same day.
For AC, a recharge only helps if there’s no leak. We check for leaks and test the compressor and fans so the cold air lasts.
