The Audi that stumped four shops
A new customer told us her Audi's check engine light was on and she'd been to four other shops. She asked for a price on a mass air flow meter, sure that was the problem. It wasn't. We can't know the fix on a car we haven't tested.
What we found
Our technician road tested the car and confirmed a slightly rough run and the light. The secondary air injection pump was full of water and seized. The combination valve, part of this emissions system, had been glued back together, which blocked the vacuum line feeding it.
The repair

Codes versus diagnosis
